Ollis & Co. focuses on supporting employees both professionally and personally.  In July 2008, Ollis concluded an intensive 18-month leadership training program designed to foster leadership and educate employees on the importance of setting goals for their business and personal lives.  The company also offers a comprehensive wellness program that includes a company-paid health-risk assessment, fresh fruit and flu shots, and on-site exercise equipment. “We think that (leadership development and wellness) is all intertwined, and someone who has a good solid personal life and is physically fit and mentally fit is going to make an excellent associate,” says Richard Ollis.

Ollis & Company has achieved the American Heart Association’s Platinum Level “Start! Fit Friendly Company” designation. The Start! Fit-Friendly Companies program recognizes employers that champion the health oftheir employees and work to create a culture of physical activity in the workplace. Ollis & Company is one of the first two companies in Southwest Missouri to achieve the Platinum Level

To qualify for this distinction, an employer must achieve a 90% level of staff participation in healthy lifestyle activities, have previously achieved the Gold Level status in the AHA program, and demonstrate positive results from their program in the area of behavior change, cost savings, or return on investment.
